About This Quote

When enough insane people scream in harmony that they really are healthy, they can actually start to believe themselves. Or put even more simply: people with overlapping delusions get along wonderfully. This quote is all about an oddity of human nature called ‘group think.’ In a group of people who share a common delusion, all the members will become convinced that their delusions are true. They will all agree on how it feels, and they all will agree on what information they need to convince them of the truth of their delusions.

If everyone in a group has this odd delusion, then each member will believe that other group members also have the same delusion. This means that the group can present a united front to any outside observers and convince them that their delusions are true.
